Mission Statement

I believe there is no more intimate medical relationship than that between a woman and her gynecologist. That's why I think you have a right to know what I believe and for you to understand the medical issues that are important to you.

I believe we are in this together. Gynecological care, and especially obstetrical care, requires the active involvement of the patient. Medical education is an ongoing task. It belongs to both of us. It is my job to bring you the most current medical care available, and I pledge myself to that task.

I believe that knowledgeable patients are the best patients. That's why you'll find an extensive collection of health literature and videotaped programs in my office.

I believe that physicians have an obligation to ease the minds of their patients as much as to heal their bodies. That's why we allow time during each office visit for questions and I am available for telephone consultations.

I believe that a child's coming into the world is a family event, and encourage the active participation of all members of the family, particularly the father, throughout the birth experience.

I believe that the birth of a child is a miracle, still, and feel privileged to be part of it.

Go from wet to dry.

Involuntary leakage of urine is very common in women. There are several types of incontinence, but the most common among women is called stress incontinence, which refers to loss of urine when straining (e.g., laughing, coughing, sneezing, etc.). In the United States, more than 11 million women are affected by stress incontinence. Urge incontinence is usually an uncontrollable urge to go to the bathroom, that is often followed by leakage of urine before the toilet is reached. Medications are used to treat urge incontinence. Mixed incontinence is a combination of these two types. Left untreated, urinary incontinence can progress to the point that it becomes socially embarrassing, and has been cited as the most common reason for families to place their grandmothers in nursing homes.

Laparoscopic Supracervical Hysterectomy

www.LaparoscopicSupracervicalHysterectomy.com

Laparoscopic Supracervical Hysterectomy (LSH) preserves sexual function by saving the cervix and its mucous-secreting glands, avoiding vaginal dryness, the most common complaint after other hysterectomies. Few surgeons are trained for this advanced procedure. LSH is a partial hysterectomy that preserves your cervix, and often your ovaries, removing only the diseased uterus.
